About David Chang, ND, LAc

About Practice

David Chang, ND, LAc, is a board-licensed naturopathic physician and acupuncturist with extensive training in naturopathic primary care and classical Chinese medicine. With more than six years of professional experience and a strong interest in chronic pain management, he is proud to own and operate his practice in Portland, Oregon.

Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Dr. Chang spent part of his childhood there before moving to beautiful Ashland, Oregon, and then on to Portland. After graduating from a six-year medical training program at the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Dr. Chang trained and completed a one-year residency under the guidance of Dr. Ilana Gurevich.

Dr. Chang has since sought comprehensive training in regenerative therapies like prolotherapy, ozone therapy, platelet-rich plasma, cold laser therapy, perineural injections, and stem cell therapy.

As a naturopathic doctor, Dr. Chang takes a holistic approach to medicine, meaning he takes the whole body’s health into account when making treatment recommendations. His goal is to eliminate the root of a patient’s condition, not just treat the symptoms.

Dr. Chang has been an active athlete for his entire life, so he understands how frustrating it can feel to go through life with debilitating chronic pain. With a passion for sports medicine and pain management, Dr. Chang combines naturopathic medicine and regenerative treatments to reduce pain and help restore function to damaged tissues, muscles, tendons, joints, and ligaments.

To better serve his patients, Dr. Chang is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Taiwanese. In his spare time, he enjoys movies, healthy cooking, basketball, and tennis.
