Perineural Injection Therapy (PIT)

What is Perineural Injection Therapy:

Perineural Injection Therapy, or Neuroprolo is a drug free, superficial injection technique used to treat chronic neuropathic pain associated with nerve inflammation. The injection utilizes diluted dextrose (D5W) which is injected near sub-cutaneous nerves that chronically send pain signals due to inflammation. Injections follow the nerve pain distribution and the pain relief is almost instantaneous. Treatments vary from 2-8 injections, spaced out by 1-2 weeks apart. Success rate vary from 80-100% in total pain resolution and return to normal activity. Perineural Injection Therapy reduces inflammation surrounding nerve tissue, which allows for normal function and signaling of that nerve branch.

Perineural Injection Therapy can be used to treat:

  • Whiplash

  • Neck pain

  • Shoulder pain

  • Back pain

  • Buttock pain

  • Groin pain

  • Pain after surgery

  • Chronic regional pain syndromes
